Volunteer as a tutor

Opportunities include:

• One-on-one tutoring to help those wanting to improve reading, writing and numeracy skills
• One-on-one and small-group tutoring in basic computer skills

Tutors are required to complete a Literacy Unlimited tutor training program and commit to one year as a tutor.

Become a member of the Board of Directors

Literacy Unlimited is governed by a Board of Directors which includes people with a balance of interests and skills. Board members are expected to give between 5 and 10 hours per month to:

• Attend monthly Board meetings
• Participate on a governance and/or fundraising committee
• Help secure and manage mutually beneficial sponsorships
• Approach foundations, corporations and individuals for funding
• Attend the Annual General Meeting (typically in May)
• Attend the annual Board Retreat (typically in November)

Fundraising

We often have raffles to raise important funds so if you are a keen sales person, we would love to have you on our team. We also welcome prize donations.
